Working alongside the Parish and Town Council team, Wellers have expertise in this sector to be able to provide tailored legal services to these types of charities including:-

• Amending the Charity’s Constitution to appoint a Council as sole Corporate Trustee of the Charity;
• Rights of the inhabitants in relation to village hall charities and advising on conducting meetings in relation to the same;
• Advising on consultations with community groups where they have been appointed as trustee but no longer act;
• Advising on permanent endowment issue and applying to the Charity Commission for Schemes in relation to these;
• Incorporating the Charity as a CIO including the transfer of assets and designated land;
• Management Agreements where the Council is managing assets and sites on behalf of the Charity;
• Advising on Community Centres and Village Halls, particularly where trading subsidiaries or Community Interest Companies may need to be established to run particular facilities.
